Meet the Staff

Sandi

Being a part of Hughes Orthodontics for over 20 years has given me the opportunity to be involved in every task in the office. As the business/office manager, I thoroughly enjoy the roles I play and the families that I meet here. I have three wonderful children; Rose, Jon and Ross, who make life interesting and complete. In my spare time, I enjoy the theatre, movies, making scrapbooks, and exploring different cultures. I love to travel and have visited over 20 countries and almost all the 50 states in the US.

Linda

I'm the new patient coordinator, and I welcome the new patients into our practice and help them through the initial phase of orthodontics. I know that listening to what the patients say is very important. I help our patients with their wants and needs with a smile and positive attitude. My family includes my four children and two grandchildren. When I'm not spending time with them, I enjoy cooking, making crafts and playing outside with my dog, Snowball. My daughter Tiffany and I are proud to be graduates of Mt Vernon High School.

Darlene

I'm a chairside technician,and have been in the dental field for over 30 years. I keep busy keeping clinic supplies organized and turning our patients frowns into smiles. My husband, Garon, and I have two greyhounds and a bull dog at home. I am involved in the pet therapy program and greyhound rescue events. My hobbies include sewing, quilting, and being an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Rosita

I work as the insurance and appointment coordinator for Dr. Hughes. I help our patients make the most from their insurance coverage. We treat our patients like close friends or family, and always do what we can to make their orthodontic experience more convenient. When I'm not at the office, I love spending time with my husband Ernie and my son Sami. I also enjoy cooking and watching TV.

Tammy

As a scheduling coordinator, I am usually the first contact when patients or parents call. It's my job to provide our patients with appointments that fit into their schedule. I have two daughters who both live locally, allowing me to spend lots of time with my 3 wonderful grandchildren, Elias, Chase and Belen. When I'm not with them, I also enjoy going to the movies, reading, ballroom dancing and visiting exotic locations.

Rosa

I'm a chairside technician, and assist Dr. Hughes in the clinic. We see people from all corners of the world, and I enjoy learning new things from them. My husband, Gerardo, and I have two beautiful children, Emily and Justin. I am also attending Northern Virginia Community College as a part time student. I enjoy shopping and spending time with my family.

Anita

I am the clinic coordinator, so I take care of patient flow and ordering all clinical supplies. Braces not only help create great smiles, sometimes treatment actually changes patients' lives for the better. A great smile helps people have better self-confidence, and I feel so blessed to be a small part of that. My family includes my husband, Rick, and our son, Travis, who is a senior at VCU. In my spare time, I love to Zumba, shop, and make crafts.

Abdul

I work for Dr. Hughes as a lab technician and chairside assistant. I get to make retainers from impressions as well as assist with patients in the clinic. When I'm not in the office, I spend time with my wife, Shazia, and our two children, Sameeya and Mohammad. I also play cricket for the Washington Cricket League.

Thuy

I work as a chairside technician with Dr Hughes. Our office is a lot of fun to work in and I know that you'll enjoy visiting us. Our team gets along really well and we love to laugh with our patients. My husband Tin and I have two sons, Timothy and Tyler and a daughter,Tiffany. In my spare time, i love volunteering at my kids' school. I also enjoy walking and do about two miles everyday.

Lyuda

I work here as a chairside technician, helping Dr. Hughes with clinical procedures and making our patients feel comfortable and at home. Dr. Hughes is a great man to work for because he respects the opinions of the staff and patients, and always takes the time to listen. When I'm not at work, I spend time with my family. I have two sons named Andrey and Sergey. I also enjoy gardening, cooking, jogging, biking and going for a swim.
