 What Is It?
Invisalign is a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners that are virtually unnoticeable while the patient is wearing them. The patient can smile during treatment and no one can tell he/she is undergoing orthodontic treatment. Invisalign is made with a 3-D computer imaging technology, and has been proven effective.
Why Would I Want It?
Aside from being invisible, Invisalign aligners are removable, allowing you to eat and drink what you want while in treatment. They are cosmetically superior to other orthodontic appliances and more comfortable because they have no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment. Invisalign is one of many orthodontic appliances available to our patients.
How Does
It Work?
Each aligner is worn for approximately two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next series, your teeth will move - little by little, week by week - until they are straightened to the final position. You'll visit Dr. Hughes every 6-8 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time varies from case to case, but averages 9-15 months with an average number of aligners worn during treatment between 18-30.
