Dr. Hughes received his dental degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1984 and his graduate degree in orthodontics from Boston University in 1986. He is co-author of an article in the March 1988 issue of the American Association of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. He is the past president of the Alexandria Dental Society and the current president of the Northern Virginia Orthodontic Study Club. A Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, Dr. Hughes is the third generation dentist in his family and happily joined his father in practice in 1986. He and his wife, Tammy, live in Alexandria with their 3 sons, Justin, Taylor and Marshall. Dr. Hughes is active in the community, schools, and his church. He is an amateur magician who enjoys performing magic tricks for his patients and charitable events.
